Below are some upcoming events happening across our campuses. We wish you all a restful fall break. We also invite you to explore some of these free and low-cost activities happening around NYC this week.

University Life Events & Opportunities
- Navigating Uncertainty (In-Person). Many of us feel some level of discomfort with uncertainty, unpredictable events, and circumstances beyond our control. Led by clinicians from Student Health on Haven Counseling Services, this workshop will provide tools that can help you navigate these moments and bolster your mental health. This event is sponsored by University Life, Student Health on Haven and Columbia's School of Nursing. Food will be provided. Monday, November 27, 5:00 - 6:30 PM. Register here.
- Low Lounge: Summer in December. The University Life Events Council invites you to Low Lounge: Summer in December. This annual Columbia tradition takes place in Low Library and provides a space to relax and unwind during finals. Pretend it’s summertime with ice cream, snacks, games, a photo station, and fun activities. Sunday, December 10 from 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Register here.
- We’re also seeking performers to share their talent during the event! Apply here by TOMORROW, November 22.
- Sing at Lessons & Carols. Calling all singers! Religious Life is looking for choir members to perform at the annual Festival of Nine Lessons & Carols at St. Paul’s Chapel, a service of traditional Christmas music and readings. Learn more and register.
- Spiritual Wellness Workshops (In-Person). Religious Life and the Spirituality Mind Body Institute at Teachers College invite you to recharge and care for yourself. These upcoming workshops will explore yoga, mindfulness, connecting with nature, photography, and more. Various times, Now - December 14. Learn more and register here.

- Pop-Up Concerts: Russell Greenberg (In-Person). Sit on stage in Miller Theatre for a concert featuring percussionist Russell Greenberg. Mingle with the performer and fellow concertgoers after the show. TONIGHT, November 21, 6:00 - 7:00 PM. Register here.
- Radio Monetochka: New Rap, Old Rock (In-Person). Join the Harriman Institute and the Barnard College Slavic Department for a Q&A and short performance with Liza Monetochka, Russian singer, songwriter, and content-creator. Monday, November 27, 5:00 - 6:30 PM. Register here.
- A New Chapter: Women Writing Northern Ireland Now (In-Person). Join the The Society of Fellows and Heyman Center for the Humanities for an evening of readings and conversation with authors Lucy Caldwell, Jan Carson, and Michelle Gallen. They will discuss growing up in Northern Ireland during The Troubles and its continuing impact on their lives, communities, creative work, and Irish culture more broadly. - New Perspectives on a Changing Climate: Young Voices in Energy (Hybrid). The Center on Global Energy Policy and the Good Energy Collective will host a discussion on the role young people can play in shifting the landscape of nuclear policy and opinion and how to elevate their voices. - World Leaders Forum: President Tharman Shanmugaratnam of the Republic of Singapore (Hybrid). This conversation with President Tharman Shanmugaratnam will explore how to build common ground and more inclusive social compacts in a time of uncertainty. - Columbia Climate School Signature Speaker Series: Dr. Jane Zelikova (Hybrid). Learn about new developments in soil-based climate solutions at this Climate School event featuring Dr. Jane Zelikova, Director of the Soil Carbon Solutions Center at Colorado State University. Summer Research Opportunity
- Summer of Translational Aging Research for Undergraduates (STAR U). The Department of Neurology invites undergraduate students to apply for this fully-funded summer research training program. STAR U is designed to encourage students from underrepresented communities to pursue studies and careers in aging and neuroscience related research through mentorship, education, and community building.
