Welcome, and Welcome Back – Student Voices Videos, Tips for Getting Involved, and Events 9/8 to 9/18
Dear Students,
Welcome, and welcome back to the start of the new academic year! Whether you are near or far from campus, University Life has wonderful opportunities to help you connect with other students across the University — including a fun lineup of Columbia Welcome events — and to find resources you may need.
As a start, be sure to check out these great Student Voices videos on how students are doing their part to #KeeptheCompact. You’ll find more every day on University Life’s Instagram, Facebook and Twitter – check to see your friends. Want to create a video – or a blog post or something else – yourself? Get more information here. And:
- Join us starting today for Columbia Welcome! It's a 40+ event series unfolding over the next 10 days, specially curated for you. Check the University Life website to be plugged in to all Columbia has to offer.
- Make a Difference on Campus – Join the Task Force on Inclusion and Belonging at Columbia and work with students, staff and faculty from all our schools to build initiatives that support diversity, inclusion and belonging in our community. Sign up for the Task Force now. Following on President Bollinger’s message in July on Columbia’s commitment to anti-racism, we’ll also invite you throughout the year to stay involved and share your thoughts and ideas. You’ll find regular updates on University Life’s Inclusion and Belonging web pages, including from the Working Group on Inclusive Public Safety.
- The Graduate Initiative for Inclusion and Engagement is part of Columbia’s commitment to the success of all graduate and professional school students. Join this year’s kick-off event, Columbia Graduate Welcome, on September 18, or upcoming workshops in September and October. Learn more about The Graduate Initiative.
