On the Attack in Bamako, Mali

November 21, 2015

After yesterday’s attacks in Bamako, Mali, our thoughts and condolences are with the victims' families, as well as with those on our own campus who have experienced such horrific events. A Columbia alum, Anita Ashok Datar, was among those killed. Please see these statements about Ms. Datar from the Mailman School of Public Health and the School of International and Public Affairs.

Tragedies of this kind are distressing to us all, and for some may resonate with past losses or tragedies in their own lives. Should you wish to talk, campus mental health professionals are available for you (BarnardMorningside, and Columbia University Irving Medical Center), as are the University Chaplain and her staff

The Office of University Life invites reflections from students, faculty and staff related to the attack in Mali and recent attacks in many other parts of the world for possible posting to our Ideas and Action page. Please email [email protected]
