Dear Students,

As we approach the fall break, here are some fun virtual events to help you stay connected and meet new friends across the globe. 

If you missed Wednesday’s University Life Forum: Reflections on the 2020 Election and the Road Ahead, you can see the recording here. Columbia experts on the media, constitutional law and government institutions share their insights about the outcome of the U.S. election, the state of the nation and what’s next.  

University Life Events and Opportunities (All events are ET)   

  • University Life Events Council Days of Service. Give back to the neighborhood through virtual and in-person opportunities and make an impact as we support DOROT, PAWS NY, the American Red Cross, Community Impact and Friends of Morningside Park. Multiple dates and times through Sunday, 11/22
  • Nourish to Flourish: Building Your Healthy Food-Body Relationship. Join Alice! Health Promotion and gain concrete skills and strategies to help you nourish your food-body relationship more holistically. Wednesday, 11/18, 3-4 PM
  • Cooking Around the World: Recipe Swap Sign-up Form. Share recipes from around the world with the Columbia community online! All students who participate will be entered to win gift cards, kitchen tools and more. Monday, 11/30 to Wednesday, 12/9.
  • The Quest for Quality Sleep: Sleep 101. Join Alice! Health Promotion and learn how to improve sleep quality and establish healthy practices, no matter the environment or circumstance. Monday, 12/7, 4-5 PM.

  • The School of Professional Studies presents Life in a Time of Global Crises: Overcoming Obstacles, Wednesday, 12/2, 6-7:30 PM 

Finally, we want to remind you to get your flu shot as soon as possible. It’s required if you’re coming to campus, and no matter where you are, getting the shot is the most effective means to limit the spread of the flu, especially now as we’re battling the COVID-19 pandemic. Learn more about how you can get your free flu vaccine on campus.
