#KeeptheCompact, Videos for you, and ReopenCU App Update

September 11, 2020

Dear Students,

I write to share important information as we move into the weekend. Be sure to #KeeptheCompact – and watch these videos from students and Columbia's essential workers. Here’s more about Student AccountabilityFAQs for socializing safely and how to step in to remind a friend or classmate to put up their face covering or keep physical distance.

If you’re on campus this semester, keep in mind: You must complete the daily ReopenCU attestation to gain access to campus buildings, including signing the Columbia Community Health Compact and completing your gateway testing and training. We will share more information on Monday about the required training for on-campus students.

Later next week, the ReopenCU app will be fully linked to campus building entrances. If you are expecting to be on campus, be sure to complete all requirements so you don’t lose access to campus buildings.

We are at a critical moment as a community and our individual actions matter. You’ve surely read about the challenges that other colleges and universities are facing when their students don’t follow public health practices.

We know you can keep the Compact – it’s for yourselves, your classmates, Columbia’s essential workers, and everyone else in and around our community.

Need help? You can speak with a faculty or staff member for assistance. Want to report a concern? You can also use the “report an incident” link at the top of University Life’s website.

I hope you find time to take a break this weekend. While I know none of this is easy or what we may have expected, together we will get through this.

Please reach out to us if you have any questions or ideas at [email protected]. And to see more student voices, follow us on InstagramTwitter and Facebook.

Take care,
